| April 7 | Advising begins for Autumn Semester 2008. |

Orientation and Registration |
Registration, adding classes, dropping classes, withdrawing from the University of Montana
| April 9 | College of Technology registration begins according to alphabetical schedule. |
| April 14 | Registration begins for all other students according to alphabetical schedule. |
| April 26-Sept. 15 | Open registration continues (except during orientation sessions, June 11-16, June 25-June 30, July 9-14 and August after 4:30 p.m.). |
| Aug. 22 (4:30 p.m.) |
Last day to receive a total refund (except non-refundable registration fee) when withdrawing from all courses for Autumn 2008. Obtain withdrawal forms from Griz Central Registration Counter. |
| Sept. 15 (4:30 p.m.) |
Last day to register for classes, add classes, change credit in variable credit courses, change grade options or drop classes on CyberBear with a refund. Last day to submit an Override form for adds. Last day to withdraw from the University (drop all courses) with a partial refund. Last day to change grading option to AUDIT . |
| Sept. 16-Oct. 6 (4:30 p.m.) | Classes may be added and dropped; or grade options changed (except Audit) with a drop/add form. $10 charge for each drop and each add, if approved. Fees will not be refunded for courses dropped, and a grade of W will appear on your transcript. Graduate credit may be deleted by notifying Graduate School. |
| Oct. 7-Dec. 5 (4:30 p.m.) | Classes may be added or dropped or grade options changed only by petition. $10 charge for each drop and each add, if approved. A WP or WF will appear on your transcript for courses dropped after October 6th. No drops or grade options changes allowed after December 5. |
| Nov. 26 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to withdraw from the University (drop all courses). After this day, must petition to withdraw. |
| Dec. 5 | No petitions to drop classes or change grade options allowed after this date for Autumn Semester 2008. |
Fee payment, finalizing registration with Financial Aid, Scholarships, Third-party payments
| July 21 | Registration bills available on www.umt.edu/cyberbear for payment or finalizing. |
| Aug.15 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to finalize registration bill otherwise registration is cancelled. Fee payment will be accepted through Midnight, August 17 via CyberBear. |
| Aug. 19-Sept. 1 (Midnight) | Pay fees or finalize by September 1 (Midnight) to avoid a $40 late fee. |
| Sept. 2-15 | Finalize registration by Sept. 15 (4:30 p.m.) to avoid cancellation of classes. |
| Sept 15 | Last day to register, add/drop, change grade options on courses by 4:30 p.m. (Pay fees or finalize with a $40.00 late fee by 4:30 pm in Griz Central or via CyberBear by midnight, Sept.16 to avoid cancellation of classes.) |
| Sept. 16 | Pay fees or finalize with a $40.00 late fee by 4:30 pm in Griz Central or via CyberBear by midnight, Sept.16 to avoid cancellation of classes. (Course registration must exist to pay on this date.) |
Health Service and Blue Cross
| Sept. 15 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to waive health insurance coverage or add clinical health fee. |
Deferred Payment
| April 9 | First day to apply for Deferred Payment Plan on Cyberbear or through Business Services Cashier Counter in Griz Central. A $30 administration fee is charged. |
| October 3 | Second deferred payment due date. |
| November 3 | Third deferred payment due date. |
Financial Aid Appeal
| Sept. 10 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to submit an appeal for Autumn Semester 2008 financial aid at Financial Aid counter in Griz Central by 4:30 p.m. |

| Aug. 25 | Classes begin for Autumn Semester 2008. |
| Sept. 1 | Labor Day Holiday, no classes held. |
| Nov. 4 | Election Day, no classes held. |
| Nov. 11 | Veterans Day Holiday, no classes held. |
| Nov. 26-28 | Thanksgiving Holiday, no classes held. |
| Dec. 5 | Last day of classes for Autumn Semester 2008. |
| Dec. 8-12 | Finals week for Autumn Semester 2008. |
Housing and Meal Plans
| Aug. 23 | Official housing day in residence halls. Arrivals before this date must be arranged with extra daily rate. |
| Sept. 5 | Last day to make meal plan changes for Autumn Semester 2008. Upgrades allowed all semester. |
Graduation and Commencement
| Oct. 6 | Department approved undergraduate degree applications for graduation at the end of Spring 2009 due with $25 application fee in Griz Central at Cashier Counter . Applications due in departments 3-14 days in advance. |
