| April 12 | Advising begins for Autumn Semester 2006. |

Orientation and Registration |
Registration, adding classes, dropping classes, withdrawing from the University of Montana
| April 12 | College of Technology registration begins according to alphabetical schedule. |
| April 17 | Registration begins for all other students according to alphabetical schedule. |
| April 29-Sept. 18 | Open registration continues (except during orientation sessions, June 14-16, June 28-30, July 12-14 and August 11 after 4:30 p.m.) through August 14. |
| Aug. 27 | Last day to receive a total refund (except non-refundable registration fee) when withdrawing from all courses for Autumn 2006. Obtain withdrawal forms from Griz Central Registration Counter. |
| Sept. 18 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to register for classes, add classes, change credit in variable credit courses, change grade options or drop classes on CyberBear with a refund. Last day to submit an Override form for adds. Last day to withdraw from the University (drop all courses) with a partial refund. Last day to change grading option to AUDIT . |
| Sept. 19-Oct. 9 (4:30 p.m.) | Classes may be added and dropped; or grade options changed (except Audit) with a drop/add form. $10 charge for each drop and each add, if approved. Graduate credit may be deleted by notifying Graduate School. |
| Oct. 9-Dec. 8 (4:30 p.m.) | Classes may be added or dropped or grade options changed only by petition. $10 charge for each drop and each add, if approved. No drops or grade options changes allowed after December 8. |
| Dec. 1 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to withdraw from the University (drop all courses). After this day, must petition to withdraw. |
| Dec. 8 | No petitions to drop classes or change grade options allowed after this date for Autumn Semester 2006. |
Fee payment, finalizing registration with Financial Aid, Scholarships, Third-party payments
| July 17 | Registration bills available on www.umt.edu/cyberbear for payment or finalizing. |
| Aug. 11 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to pay or finalize registration bill otherwise registration is cancelled. |
| Aug. 15-29 (4:30 p.m.) | Fee payment and finalization resume for late registering students. If cancelled for nonpayment on August 11, and reregistering a $40 late fee is assessed. |
| Aug. 30 | $40 late begins for remaining late registered students. |
| Sept. 18 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to pay fees or finalize registration with a $40 late fee, otherwise registration will be cancelled. |
Health Service and Blue Cross
| Sept. 18 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to waive health insurance coverage or add clinical health fee. |
Deferred Payment
| April 17 | First day to apply for Deferred Payment Plan on Cyberbear or through Business Services Cashier Counter in Griz Central. A $30 administration fee is charged. |
| Oct. 2 | Second deferred payment due date. |
| Nov. 2 | Third deferred payment due date. |
Financial Aid Appeal
| Sept. 13 (4:30 p.m.) | Last day to submit an appeal for Autumn Semester 2006 financial aid at Financial Aid counter in Griz Central by 4:30 p.m. |

Instruction and Holidays
| Aug. 28 | Classes begin for Autumn Semester 2006. |
| Sept. 4 | Labor Day Holiday, no classes held. |
| Nov. 7 | Election Day Holiday, no classes held. |
| Nov. 10 | Veterans Day Holiday, no classes held. |
| Nov. 22-24 | Thanksgiving Holiday, no classes held. |
| Dec. 8 | Last day of classes for Autumn Semester 2006. |
| Dec. 11-15 | Finals week for Autumn Semester 2006. |
Housing and Meal Plans
| Aug. 26 | Official housing day in residence halls. Arrivals before this date must be arranged with extra daily rate. |
| Sept. 8 | Last day to make meal plan changes for Autumn Semester 2006. Upgrades allowed all semester. |
Graduation and Commencement
| Oct. 2 | Department approved undergraduate degree applications for graduation at the end of Spring 2007 due with $25 application fee in Griz Central at Cashier Counter . Applications due in departments 3-14 days in advance. |
